SISTERS with SOUL- Perkins duo hopes life experiences can lead others to God. Sisters Mandy Stevens, 21, and Stephanie Stevens,19, have just released their first album together, "Songs for the Soul". The two Perkins Township sisters hope to help spread the word of God through their sing and music writing. "It is our biggest pasion we've had dreams of a music career from ages of 3 and 5. The intention is to make listeners feel closer to God, the pair said as they sat in their music room- the same room where they spend hours working on their music and creating their lyrics. "God is the only way," said Stephanie, the younger two.
"Everything in life should bring you closer to God." In fact, it is their life experiences the girls write about in their lyrics to distribute the mesage. The two already have been married and divorced. "We obviously were hurting...had been through a lot," said Mandy. "We took that and made it into something beautiful." Actually, many of their songs talk about finding strength in turning to God. In one song, entitled "Always." Mandy writes, "Lord, you are always, always, always there/ When I'm not, I'm not forgotten/ You're stil there, always there." Now the two hope to promote their music by traveling to sing at events, concerts, and churches. They have several events already planed.
